A Powerful E-Reader
Amazon is the largest internet-based retailer in the United States. Most people are unaware that at its origin Amazon was nothing more than an online bookstore, with it diversifying to the Amazon we all know today. It only makes sense that they would sell their famous Kindle, an e-book reader, which is designed and sold by Amazon.
The Kindle allows its users to shop, download, browse and read electronic books, their favourite magazines, local newspapers and just about anything you could ever want to read with 3.1 million books in its Kindle book store. It even allows students to rent textbooks from different publishers for a fixed period of time!
The opportunities with Kindle seem limitless for both the user and Amazon. What makes the Kindle so successful is that it is a mobile library of limitless literature for those who have purchased one. The user can go to their local coffee shop and enjoy the newspaper if they have purchased it, or catch up on their favourite author’s literature. This is what makes the kindle so successful in the hands of consumers; they feel a sense of connection with their Kindle, much like we feel a connection with the books we read.
